Grab lunch or a snack at the co-op and join us! Discussion to follow.\nIowa renters face high energy burdens, paying high utility bills but unable to make efficiency improvements like better insulation or efficient heating systems. These decisions rest with property owners, leaving renters trapped in a cycle of high costs and very little cost control.\nThis roundtable will bring together housing providers, advocates, and local and national experts to ask:\n\nWhy does Iowa lags behind other states in affordable, energy-efficient housing?\nHow can communities overcome the “split incentive” between owners and renters?\nWhat policy and program ideas will reduce energy burden and advance decarbonization?\nWhat are some lived experiences from renters and community leaders working on this issue?\n\nThis event promises to be rich with insight into an important cost-of-living conundrum.\nRVSPs appreciated: Email director@energydistrict.org ( mailto:director@energydistrict.org )\nCan’t join in person?
