On Saturday, November 22 Winneshiek Energy District supporters new and old gathered in the Pulpit Rock Brewing Co. event room to celebrate and support a clean energy future. Local musician Namoli Brennet performed while snacks, beverages, and conversations flowed. Over 45 people attended the event, raising over $2,000 for clean energy programs.

Northeast Iowa Author and artist Katherine Hannigan was the featured speaker. Hannigan shared a story about how her love for the natural world motivated her recent home electrification project. “It wasn’t cheap” she said, “but what do you do when you love someone?” indicating taking climate action through home electrification. Hannigan emphasized the role of WED as a guiding third party that helped her reach her goals without breaking the bank.
