What is a Home Energy Audit?
A home energy audit is a detailed assessment of your home’s energy use. Energy Auditor Paul Cutting will conduct an in-depth evaluation of your insulation, heating and cooling systems, appliances, and overall energy efficiency. We use diagnostic tools such as blower door tests and infrared cameras to identify areas of energy loss and provide personalized recommendations to help you save money and improve year-round comfort. You will receive a personalized written report plus follow up support to help you move forward confidently with energy efficiency projects.
If your home feels drafty, your energy bills are high, or your heating and cooling systems seem to run constantly, an energy audit can help you pinpoint the causes and lower your bills. Or perhaps you’re interested in alternative energy systems like heat pumps, solar, or are looking to buy an electric vehicle. Our whole home energy audit provides insights into how your home uses energy and where improvements can be made—whether that’s insulation upgrades, air sealing, or more efficient heating and cooling.
An home energy audit is more than a simple clipboard audit. Through on-site measurements, analysis and personalized coaching, you will gain insight to make meaningful steps toward increased comfort and lower energy bills. The resulting report will both provide recommended improvements and estimate annual dollar and carbon savings.
Recommended efficiency improvements will help you achieve:
- Lower Energy Bills – Reduce heating and cooling costs by identifying inefficiencies.
- Improved Comfort – Eliminate drafts, maintain more consistent temperatures, and enhance indoor air quality
- Increased Home Value – Energy-efficient homes are more attractive to buyers and garner a higher resale value
- Environmental Impact – Lower your home’s carbon footprint and save money
- Eligibility for Incentives – Our energy audit may help you identify and/or qualify for rebates or assistance programs for energy efficiency upgrades
