Today we welcome Ally Peters and Luke Forsberg as Green Iowa AmeriCorps summermembers. Luke and Ally will serve 300 hours this summer helping to scale up our summer programs and make northeast Iowa a more sustainable place to live through environmental education projects, home energy assessments, and community service projects.Both have studied political science and environmental science at Luther College.This summer’s projects will include work withthe Decorah butterfly garden, Seed Savers Exchange, Pepperfield Project, Luther’s Discover camp, the Winneshiek Farmers Market, and home energy assessments.

Kristin Eggen first came to the Winneshiek Energy District as a Green Iowa AmeriCorps member in 2015. Eight years later, she is thrilled to lead the grassroots clean energy movement in Winneshiek County. Kristin deeply appreciates rural communities, Northeast Iowa, community sustainability, and nonprofit management. She uses The Art of Hosting Conversations that Matter methodology and graphic recording services to drive strategic conversations around community sustainability, justice, fundraising, and nonprofit health.
