The Winneshiek Energy District will hold a series of Energy Savings Clinics at Winneshiek County Libraries during the last week of October.

• Wednesday, October 29, 4-6 PM | Ossian Community Center

As energy prices rise and winter approaches, Winneshiek Energy District will host a series of free Energy Savings Clinics at three county libraries in late October. The bilingual, family-friendly events provide residents with practical resources to lower utility bills before cold weather arrives. 

Winneshiek and Allamakee county residents attending the clinics can sign up for home energy audits to identify energy and comfort improvements, receive free energy-saving LED bulbs, understand utility bill charges, and learn simple weatherization techniques to seal their homes against winter weather. Knowledgeable staff will be available to answer questions about home energy and comfort issues. 

Participants also have the opportunity to win a $50 gas card by taking part in the organization’s energy affordability interview project. Information about the Low Income Heating Assistance Program will be available for those who qualify. 

The open house format makes the events accessible to families, with refreshments provided and coloring pages and activities available for children. Materials and assistance will be offered in both English and Spanish.
