The Clean Energy Districts of Iowa was invited to join USDA Rural Development leaders in presenting at theOrganization for Economic Cooperation and Development’s Rural Development Conferencein Ireland. The theme of the September OECD gathering was “Building Sustainable, Resilient, and Thriving Rural Places”. CEDI Executive Director Andy Johnson discussed the universal-local Energy District model, and the Energy District’s partnership in implementing USDA’s Rural Energy for America Program, on the panel “Local Strategies for Sustainable Rural Energy Communities“. Rural Development’s Administrator of the Rural Business-Cooperative Service, Dr. Karama Neal, and USDA’s Under Secretary for Rural Development, Xochitl Torres Small, also presented at the conference.
