Winneshiek Energy District and Oneota Film Festival announce film screening November 2
Local organizations partner to host “member plus 1” film screening
The Winneshiek Energy District (WED) and the Oneota Film Festival (OFF) will host a screening of the new documentary film Happening: A Clean Energy Revolution, directed by James Redford and featuring Mark Ruffalo, on Friday, November 2 at The Lingonberry, downtown Decorah. The doors will open at 6:30pm. The film will begin at 7:00pm and will be followed by a question and answer session with WED staff.
In Happening: A Clean Energy Revolution, filmmaker James Redford embarks on a colorful personal journey into the dawn of the clean energy era as it creates jobs, turns profits, and makes communities stronger and healthier across the US. Unlikely entrepreneurs in communities from Georgetown, TX to Buffalo, NY reveal pioneering clean energy solutions while James’ discovery of how clean energy works, and what it means at a personal level, becomes the audiences’ discovery too. Reaching well beyond a great story of technology and innovation, “Happening” explores issues of human resilience, social justice, embracing the future, and finding hope for our survival.
The event is open to members of one or both organizations. Members are encouraged to bring a non-member guest. Persons who are interested in attending and are not a member or guest of either WED or OFF, may become a new member of either organization at the door. Membership fee levels vary.
