Clean Energy Advocacy

Energy is a highly regulated and policy-driven industry, in part because it affects the livelihood of each person who flips a switch, drives a car, or holds a cell phone.

In Iowa, energy policy is overseen largely by the Legislature and the Iowa Utilities Board, a governor-appointed board of 3 individuals. The mission of the IUB is to “regulate utilities to ensure that reasonably priced, reliable, environmentally responsible, and safe utility services are available to all Iowans.”

Your Energy District advocates for clean, locally owned energy at the state and local levels. Our mission includes keeping you informed, and we encourage you to get involved through the links and resources on this page and the updates we provide in our newsletter, which you can sign up for here. You can explore clean energy topics in the left sidebar.
