August Energy Breakfast

The Winneshiek Energy District welcomes Carmen Finken from the University of Northern Iowa’s Center for Energy and Environmental Education to the monthly Energy Breakfast program on August 21. Carmen oversees Sustainable Schools AmeriCorps, a new resource and catalyst that is helping Iowa school districts to build a more energized and sustainable future.
Sustainable Schools AmeriCorps (SSA) works to reduce district-wide energy costs and assist teachers and staff in implementing environmental project-based learning initiatives. We’re excited to learn about the first year of SSA initiatives. The program supports AmeriCorps members serving as Sustainability Coordinators for five school districts: Waverly-Shell Rock, Dubuque Community, Holy Family Catholic Schools, Davis County, and South Tama County.
T-Bock’s Sports Bar and Grill on Tuesday, August 21st from 7:30 AM to 9:00 AM.
