Coltan, an ore mined in African countries, is a key element in manufacturing small devices (i.e. cell phones) that often results in chimpanzee and gorilla poaching. Additionally, unsustainable mining techniques perpetuate the degradation of these species’ habitats. Eco-Cell has been recycling cell phones and supporting wildlife habitat since 2003.
