What is Energy Coaching?
Interested in making energy-related improvements to your house but really don’t know where to start? Maybe you’ve thought of solar, but are unsure given the big shade tree in the backyard. Or perhaps your AC is on the fritz and you’ve heard something about heat pumps but really don’t know what they are. Or perhaps you’ve heard about rebates and tax credits and want to make sure you’re first in line to take advantage.
If these describe you, consider scheduling an energy coaching session with Winneshiek Energy District. As part of an energy coaching session, we’ll stop by your house, discuss your priorities, objectives, timeframe and potential budget, and help you develop a roadmap for how, when and in what order to prioritize projects. Energy coaching is a great way to get all your thoughts in order and to develop a plan to move forward with your clean energy projects.
Here are some examples of how energy coaching might help you:
- Understanding home comfort concerns like hot upper floors, or cold, drafty floors
- Learning the basics of solar and renewable energy, and how solar saves money and pays dividends
- Understanding the ins and outs of financial incentives for clean energy and energy efficiency projects, like appliance rebates and tax credits
- Helping you plan for whole-home electrification projects, including heat pumps, EVs, and electric appliances
